FestivitIN’ the Neighbourhood

FestivitIN’ the Neighborhood is a project of Municipality of Gabrovo financed by the Financial Mechanism of the European Economic Area 2014-2021 within the framework of the “Cultural Entrepreneurship, Heritage and Cooperation” program.

The initiative represents a comprehensive concept for activating urban neighborhoods with the means of art, with the main objective to discover new forms and spaces for culture in an urban environment, through which to attract new audiences, to facilitate access to culture and art to different communities and to create sustainable partnerships between local cultural operators.

See me, Visions

Bichkinya district

Puppet shows presenting innovative forms of theater-forum in which the audience participates as scriptwriter and director. Children’s workshops, light interaction that involves the audience in improvisations with the attractive light-painting photographic technique, dance performance with fire.

Hear me, Feel the Sound

Mladost district

Concert evenings, sound workshops intended for children’s audiences, creative studios of sound installations, exploration of the sound-form relationship, verbal folklore. The module reveals the symbiosis between contemporary and classical musical forms.

Dyado Dyanko district

Children’s workshops on cookie decorating, making a large sugar tree, master classes with leading chef decorators, an exhibition of sugar sculptures on the theme “Looking North”.

Touch Me, Feel the Touch

Hristo Botev district

Show performance with break dance, juggling, magic and pole dance workshops. Stand-up comedy, reading marathon with book exchange, magic and fire shows.

District Number 6

An installation with tactile writing, a performance of the deprived senses – a blindfolded concert, applied and craft workshops, graffiti in an urban environment.
